Bike Rentals
Rim Tours has high quality Santa Cruz full suspension bikes available for rent on all tours. We have a variety of bikes but do not have all models in all sizes. Please give us your preferences for model and/or wheel size (29, or MX 29 front/27.5 rear). If you have no preference that's great to know too.
Day Tours
Day Tour price includes a full suspension Santa Cruz bike. Bikes also come with a helmet and 1 water bottle you get to keep.
Multi-Day Tours
Bike pricing is $80/day for multi-day tours. Please provide your first and second choices upon booking — all bikes are reserved on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee any rental.

Rental Bike Insurance
Bike insurance is available for a $15.00 flat rate for Multi-Day Tours and is automatically included with all Day Tours. Insurance covers parts/frame replacement on 1 bike up to $500.00 (wholesale cost). Insurance covers damages incurred only while riding and under your care during the tour.
Insurance does not cover damages or complete bike replacement due to negligence while in transport, theft, a catastrophic crash, or acts of God. Insurance must be purchased prior to your tour. If you decline rental bike insurance you are responsible for the cost of any damages incurred while the bike is in your possession.
eBike Options
Some of our Multi-Day Tours allow eBikes (indicated on Multi-Day Tour pages) and we can arrange private Day Tours for eBikes. We have a very limited eBike rental inventory and work with local shops that have additional resources for our guests.
If you are planning to bring your own eBike please let us know ahead of time. Also make sure it is a true mountain bike and has appropriate tires for off-road use. For Multi-Day Tours we have an eBike charging system that we do charge a fee for, and we encourage you to bring a spare battery if possible.
Please note that not all trails/tours are open for eBikes — please inquire if you have questions.
Using Your Own Bike
If you are bringing your own bike we strongly recommend you have your bike checked out by a reputable bike shop prior to departure. Have your bike tuned up and any worn-out parts replaced. Most bikes now have proprietary parts such as the derailleur hanger and we can't guarantee that our spare parts will be compatible with your bike. We highly recommend traveling with a spare derailleur hanger and other specialty items your bike may require for minor repairs. We carry a spare bike on multi-day tours.
You may ship your bike ahead of time to Rim Tours. Please make these arrangements with our office before you arrive. Make sure your name and the tour you are scheduled for are written clearly on the label along with "Please Build" or "Please Hold". Rim Tours can also do the tune-up.
The tune-up charge will depend on the amount of work needed. Our assembly fee is $50, or $100 if we disassemble and box it up at the end of the trip as well. Shipping fees will be extra.
Camping Gear Rentals
Sierra Designs, Black Diamond, and Big Agnes tents, Sierra Designs sleeping bags, and Therm-a-Rest style/inflatable ground pads are available to rent.
