Our Story
Rim Tours was founded in 1985, when mountain biking was still a fringe sport and Moab, Utah was just being discovered by the handful of adventurers who recognized it as something extraordinary. We were there at the beginning — and we’re still here, still leading the same trails that have humbled and inspired riders for four decades.
What started as a passion project has grown into one of the most respected guided mountain bike operations in the American Southwest. We’re not a franchise. We’re not a corporate outfit. We’re riders who love this place and love sharing it.
What We Offer
We run guided mountain bike tours ranging from half-day introductions to week-long backcountry expeditions across four states:
- Moab, Utah — The Slickrock Trail, the White Rim, the Maze, Bears Ears, and dozens of trails that made Moab the mountain biking capital of the world
- Colorado — Durango, Crested Butte, Fruita, and the Colorado Trail
- Arizona — Sonoran Desert winter riding, the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, Gooseberry Mesa
- Oregon — Bend and the Cascade Range singletrack
Every tour is all-inclusive: bikes, gear, permits, camping, ground transportation, and gourmet meals prepared by guides who understand that eating well is part of the adventure.
Our Guides
Our guides aren’t seasonal hires reading from a script. They’re passionate riders with deep knowledge of local trails, geology, and natural history. Many have been guiding with us for years — returning season after season because they love this work and they’re exceptional at it.
Group size is always limited (typically 8–12 riders) so every guest gets personal attention and the flexibility that makes a guided trip feel like an adventure with friends, not a crowd.
Our Philosophy
Safety first. Desert terrain is unforgiving. We carry comprehensive first aid equipment, maintain meticulous gear standards, and our guides are trained in wilderness medicine.
Leave No Trace. The places we ride are irreplaceable. We follow strict LNT principles and work to leave every trail exactly as we found it.
Honest adventure. We match riders to the right tours. If a trail is beyond your current fitness or skill level, we’ll tell you — and help you find something that will genuinely challenge and reward you.
